APPLETON RUM TOUR: The first stop will be at the Appleton Rum Estate where you will be taken to the bar for orientation and a few cups of the most refreshing rum punch the island has to offer. After a video lesson of how the cane juice is extracted, fermented, aged, blended and bottled you will go on a guided 45-minute tour of the estate. Jamaica produces some of the most famous rums in the world, so a tour to the famous Appleton Estate should be on your must do list when you visit the island. The estate is 11,000 acres located in the Nassau Valley, in St. Elizabeth on the southern side of Jamaica. On arrival at the Appleton Estate, visitors are given a video briefing about the history of the factory and the process of making rum.
YS FALLS: The falls, unlike the Dunn’s River Falls, are unspoiled and kept in a natural environment friendly state, the only modifications made are the footpaths along the falls and natural swimming pool. You will be taken to the falls by means of tractor pulled jitney trough the fields. YS is a nature-based attraction offering the opportunity to experience the beauty of the waterfalls surrounded by lush gardens and magnificent trees. When you arrive on the property a jitney, hauled by a tractor, will be waiting to take you on a 10-minute ride through the woods and up to the falls until you have reached the gift shop. You will have approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to explore the falls and surrounding rain-forest. There are 2 man-made natural pools available to you. Guides and lifeguards are on property to provide guests with both safety and assistance. YS is a nature-based attraction offering the opportunity to experience the beauty of the waterfalls surrounded by lush gardens and magnificent trees. The pools are fed by underground and aboveground springs, which is more suitable for children and others unable to swim. YS Falls offers one of the most exhilarating canopy rides, which glide from the top of the falls to its base, and river tubing. Diving off the platforms and swing off the Tarzan Ropes are also a trademark activity at YS. After YS Falls it will be time to have lunch and then make your way back to the resort.
